Abstract

This study aims to examine the Semester Credit System (SKS)-based learning management at the Special Islamic Senior High School (MA) Amanatul Ummah. The SKS system, which is usually applied in universities, is applied at MA to provide flexibility in learning and allow students to learn according to their respective abilities and speeds. This research approach uses a qualitative method by using interviews, observations, and documentation as techniques for collecting the data. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SKS at MA Istimewa Amanatul Ummah involves structured learning management starting from planning, implementation, to evaluation. This management includes grouping students based on their ability, flexible subject arrangements, and adjusting the study load in order to make learning more effective and efficient. The obstacles in implementing this system are mainly related to students and teacher’s adaptation to new learning methods. Nevertheless, the SKS system at MA Istimewa Amanatul Ummah is considered capable of increasing student learning motivation and improving more optimal learning outcomes.
