This qualitative study investigates the challenges and coping mechanisms experienced by students learning English at MAN Kota Palangka Raya. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic coding and triangulation to ensure validity. The study identifies key barriers including inadequate access to learning materials such as textbooks and digital resources, socio-economic constraints affecting supplementary learning opportunities, and pedagogical challenges faced by teachers. Linguistic difficulties particularly in grammar comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, and speaking confidence also hinder student progress. Findings highlight that interactive learning activities, peer collaboration, and the integration of technology-based tools significantly contribute to overcoming these challenges. The study recommends targeted interventions, including improving resource availability, enhancing teacher professional development in differentiated instruction, and fostering active parental and community involvement to create a more supportive and effective language learning environment. These insights aim to inform contextually responsive pedagogical strategies and policy development to enhance language learning outcomes.
